Cleanup-Busters Inc. was not born in a boardroom. It was built on job sites, in professional kitchens, and through years of hands-on experience in some of the most demanding work environments in Ontario.
Our founder, Mike Ghanie, began his professional career as a certified welder, spending years mastering a trade that demanded precision, discipline, and the ability to deliver consistent results under pressure. Welding taught him something that would later define every aspect of Cleanup-Busters: time management, attention to detail, and the value of showing up prepared — every single day.
From there, he transitioned into the culinary arts, driven by a passion for creating something people could appreciate. Working in professional kitchens sharpened a different set of skills: meeting tight deadlines, coordinating with a team under constant pressure, and delivering quality when the stakes were high. These are the same principles that drive every Cleanup-Busters project today — whether it is a scheduled waste collection for a retail flagship or a full-scale commercial demolition.
Identifying the Gap — One Company, Every Service
Through extensive research and firsthand experience across countless job sites, Mike identified a significant gap in the commercial waste management industry across the Greater Toronto Area. Businesses were juggling multiple vendors for different needs — one company for garbage removal, another for bin rentals, a third for demolition, and yet another for equipment and supplies. It was inefficient, expensive, and frustrating.
He also noticed that most waste removal companies in the region offered a single, narrow service: they picked up garbage and that was it. There was no true one-stop partner for commercial operations that needed comprehensive site support.
That insight became the vision for Cleanup-Busters Inc. — a full-service waste management and site services company where businesses could get everything they need from a single, trusted partner. No more coordinating between five different vendors. No more inconsistent quality. One call, one team, one standard of excellence.
From Removal to Demolition — Growing Where the Industry Needed Us
After working on countless commercial and construction job sites, it became clear that Cleanup-Busters could do more than arrive at the end of a project for removal. We could be part of the job from the very beginning.
That realization led to the addition of professional demolition services — licensed, WSIB-certified, and fully insured. Today, demolition is an integral part of what we offer, allowing us to support our clients through every phase of a project: from teardown and site preparation to debris removal, equipment supply, and ongoing waste collection.
